In 2008, Matisyahu released an EP of songs that were to be part of an upcoming album (the album Light). Shattered was released on October 14, 2008 through Epic.

Watching the Wheels
In either 2007 or 2008, Matisyahu and Dub Trio recorded a cover of Watching the Wheels by John Lennon for the Instant Karma/Save Darfur album, featuring many acts covering John Lennon songs.

Other
In either 2007 or 2008, bassist Josh Werner and keyboardist Borahm Lee stepped down from touring. Jason Fraticelli took on touring bass duties, and touring keys were taken up by Rob Marscher.
